Dear Hockey Parents and Players,
Rink Management Group Limited "RMG" is proud to announce plans for a new and exciting youth league for the upcoming 2008-2009 hockey season.
The Mega Ice Youth Hockey League will consist of four divisions: Atom (5-6 yrs. old), Mini Squirt (7-8yrs. old), Squirt (9-10yrs. old) and Peewee (11-13 yrs. old).
Atoms and Mini Squirts will practice and play games on Sunday mornings from 7:00am-9:00am using the full ice surface and will be coached and managed by Tom Barnes.
Squirts and Peewees will practice and play games on Saturday mornings from 7:00am-9:30am using the full ice surface and will be coached and managed by Mega Ice League Coach, Charles Yorke,
All divisions will consist of 22 weeks of hockey with all players playing each week.
The early bird price for the 2008-2009 season is $3980.00 (available until May 4th). Beginning on May 5th the price will go up to $4380.00.
Dates for the Squirts and Peewees will be as follows:
Sept. 20, 27, Oct. 11, 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29, Dec 6, 13, Jan 10, 17, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28, Mar. 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4
Dates of the Atoms and Mini Squirts will be as follows:
Sept. 21, 28, Oct. 12, 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30, Dec 7, 14, Jan 11, 18, Feb. 8, 15, 22, Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5
We will begin the season with an intensive 2-Week Training Camp that will provide instruction on the basics of hockey (skating, stick handling, passing and shooting) as well as the fundamentals of the game (off-sides, positioning, face-offs, team play, etc.).
The Regular Season for the respective divisions will begin on Oct 11th and Oct. 12th. Prior to this players will be organized onto competitive teams. Throughout the season we will alternate practices and games. Registration will determine the number of teams and the exact plan.
Additional ice time will be available during the weekly scheduled "Penguins Hockey Club" practice times and will be coached by Norm Chin.
